Hailing from Alameda, California, Penny Opry, extends into the “old timey” maritime music genre, exploring seafaring music from North America and the British Isles, as well as American roots music from the 1850s -1940s. In addition to curating and interpreting songs of the past, Penny Opry writes catchy, unforgettable songs, drawing inspiration from a vast repertoire of folk tradition and a passion for new adventure. Both multi-instrumentalists and singers, Rosie and Joan incorporate accordion, soprano and baritone ukulele, drums, fiddles, piano, and whistle into Penny Opry’s music.
