Tiki Central was created in January 2000 as a forum for celebrating classic and modern Polynesian Pop culture. Right from it’s inception, TC brought together artists, bartenders, mug makers, rum/ tiki aficionados and fans of Polynesian-pop.
It inspired members to not only create Tiki spaces in their homes, but to recreate and open commercial Tiki bars that would pay homage to the mid-century Tiki movement. The first two recognized TC-inspired bars were Kahiki Moon (Burlington, VT 2003) and Forbidden Island (Alameda, Ca 2006).
The (exclusive) Bay Area party is being hosted at Forbidden Island as a private event on Saturday afternoon. Only 50 tickets to be sold and entrance includes one Reverb Crash, the official Tiki Central cocktail (featuring Smith and Cross Jamaican Rum, Puerto Rican Rum, Ray and Nephew Overproof, passion fruit, grapefruit and lime) as well as entertainment by DJ Otto and DJ Speakeasy Ray!

Come celebrate its 20th Anniversary, in conjunction with simultaneous parties across the country, incl Tonga Hut (Burbank), Frankie’s (Vegas), Hidden Idol (Denver) and Tiki Cat (Kansas City) and toast the milestone with Tiki Central’s official drink, the Reverb Crash, created by Ran Mosessco (kick_the_reverb)!
